Starkey Livio 1200 - Superior sound and connectivity

The Starkey Livio 1200 is the entry level technology hearing aid in their latest range. Released in 2018 the Livio range is Starkey's best yet combining excellent sound quality with the very latest Bluetooth technology and app facilities. They have also launched the Livio AI version of this product which is Starkey's pinnacle performance hearing aid. Check it out on our Starkey page where we explain the differences your getting for the added cost.

Features of the Product

In this section we will explain a little more about the features that Starkey have worked really hard on in putting them into the Livio range and what makes the hearing aids so good.

Hearing Reality

Starkey's latest development that gives maximum focus and clarity of speech whether that be in a quiet or noisy environment. A recent independent study gave Livio hearing aids the top rating compared to other manufacturers’ premium devices for reducing background noise in noisy listening environments. This is all thanks to 'Hearing Reality'

Ear to Ear Technology

The Livio range uses ear to ear technology. This effectively means the hearing aids communicate with each other to provide a binaural sense of whats going on around you. They talk and actively adjust themselves to best match the environment.

Directional Processing

Using directional processing the Livio can follow and locate the sound you want to hear and filter out those unwanted background noise sounds. It has a 360 degree scope meaning that the user is not limited in terms of where they can and cannot locate the vital areas of sound.

Sound Manager Efficiency

Livio uses the very latest in sound manager efficiency. Sound Manager prioritizes speech in noise by making discrete adjustments per memory to a variety of environments and directionality, and adjusts the amount of gain adaptation towards music listening per memory. The activity level, music strength, and directionality (Omni, Directional, Dynamic, and Adaptive) settings can be selected independently per memory environment.

Rechargeability

The new Livio range comes with a built in Li-ion power cell. According to Starkey the user will get a full 24 hours of usage of a single full charge. This is including Bluetooth streaming and use of the Thrive app. The recharging unit uses induction connection to charge the hearing aids, however it is also used as a drybox. This means that whilst your hearing aids are on charge the drybox facility is automatically reducing the moisture levels in the hearing aid electronics, meaning that when you come to take them out to wear they are both fully charged and clean. An excellent addition by Starkey. The charging times are as follows:

3 hours charge - A full 24 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)

1.5 hours charge - Around 12-13 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)

0.5 hours charge - Around 5-6 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)

Streaming Facilities

Starkey Livio is at the forefront of the Bluetooth market. Their latest app Thirve is designed to work of both Apple and Android smartphones using the very latest in hearing aid accessibility. The Livio uses 2.4 GHz strong Bluetooth connection to ensure maximum stability between hearing aids and smartphone. They now have the full AI and streaming facilities in the custom Livio Edge AI.

Thrive App Including thriveCare

Livio uses the very latest technology for streaming and remote control function. The thrive App has a large range of facilities that the user can access to personalize their lifestyle. Aside from the basic facilities such as, volume control, program adjustment and setting, find my hearing aids, they now also include 'Geo Tagging' which allows the user to set a tag on their favourite environments such as a favourite restaurant or cinema and also Auto On/Off which turns the hearing aids off automatically to save power when not in use.

Build Quality

The Livio range comes with an updated ip68 rated outer shell meaning they are moisture and dust resistant. The receivers are snap fit receivers for ease of changing and are very durable, coming with a moisture resistant receiver housing and a gauze wax filter for extra protection against wax and debris. The rechargeable facility is encased so there is no risk of external damage. The recharging unit / drybox is fairly large and durable however is isn't wirelessly portable so you will need the charging lead when you take it away with you.

Telehealth

A new aspect to Starkey is Telehealth. Telehealth is a facility that will allow the audiologist to be able to set up and fine tune the hearing aids from a remote setting. This is perfect for those people who live or go abroad a lot and still require services for the hearing aids whilst they are away. It can also be used for continuous follow ups such as adjusting the setting and changing the programs. This is done via a bluetooth smartphone.

Hearing Aid Styles / Colours

The Livio range is available in two styles:

Behind the Ear - Suitable for those with poorer dexterity and a more significant hearing loss (Fully Bluetooth compatible)

Receiver in Canal - Both battery and rechargeable option for those who want more discretion.

There are 7 different colour options please see below for the range that Livio has to offer.
